Back from a wet Vålådalen

On monday morning I arrived safely in Stockholm after a fantastic Scandinavian Blogger Meetup in Vålådalen. It was a rather different trip than the one last autumn. The weather was mostly wet and rather chilly and we traveled mostly through the fantastic forest, but, boy did we have fun. Our lightweight gear was really tested, but I'm happy to say everything stood the test well. Below are some photos from the trip. All shots were taken with my new Canon Powershot S90. The camera cannot be compared with a DSLR, but under the right conditions the results are very good.

  1. They look very fine photos. The hills look good.

  2. The big difference compared to my Nikon D40 is the dynamic range. This is most noticeably in high-contrast shots. It blows the highlights most of the time. The photos you see in this post have also been post processed in Adobe Lightroom to recover the highlights and lighten up the shadows. You can't get the nice shots with blurred backgrounds either, but that goes for any compact. The S90s lowlight performance combined with image stabilisation is really impressive though, even compared to the D40.
